The Geneva Public Library will host a free piano concert on Friday, May 9 at 7:30 pm in its reading room. Stan Proffitt, a native of Geneva, will perform in a program billed as Musical Moments. The hour-long event will feature Bach’s Italian Concerto in its entirety, followed by contemporary song selections by artists including the Beatles, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Elton John, and Carole King.

Proffitt began studying piano at age six and graduated from Geneva High School in 1981. This performance marks his fourth year in the Musical Moments series. He continues to expand his repertoire, tackling works such as Bach's Goldberg Variations and exploring various musical genres, including classical, jazz, classic rock, contemporary pop, alternative, R&B, country, and world music.

Musical Moments is supported by financial gifts from Jane Crumlish, the Foundation for Geneva Public Library, and contributions from local volunteers.
