Due to freezing rain and the potential for snow, leaf removal in Ward 2 of Akron will now begin on Wednesday, December 10. City officials mentioned that the crews are monitoring weather conditions on Monday and Tuesday to decide on a new start date for Ward 9. Crews have already removed 30,000 cubic yards of leaves and are working to finish the remaining wards. In addition to the adjusted schedule for Ward 2 and pending updates for Ward 9, two pickups are planned for Wards 3, 5, 10, and 6, along with fulfilling other requests received through 311.
