Treasure Valley Cracks Down on Holiday DUI Enforcement

Boise, Idaho – The Treasure Valley DUI Task Force announced increased DUI enforcement for the Cinco de Mayo holiday weekend through Monday. In a briefing, MADD Impact Speaker Maryhelen shared her personal story of losing her mother to a drunk driver.

The task force’s efforts come as a reminder to the community to drive sober and to use a designated driver if needed.

In a separate case noted during the briefing, Gail Evans was killed by a 22-year-old drunk driver on Easter Sunday in Canyon County on April 12, 1998. Evans, remembered by her family as a beloved mother and grandmother, died instantly in the incident. Her family shares her story to help prevent similar tragedies.
